Do you shut your eyes during massages?
People tend to fall into 2 categories:
- People that have their eyes open when getting a massage
- People that shut their eyes whilst getting a massage
This provides an indicator to the astute Angel – or you – if you are giving a massage. Let us share with you our experience around what it means if someone wants to have open or shut eyes.
Open Eyes
The type of person who keeps their eyes open is an extrovert.
They’re willing to engage in conversation with the Angel. This is great news. It means that you can ask them questions, make them laugh, listen and use non-verbal cues when talking. It’s much easier to have a 2-way interaction where both people have their eyes open.
The message – AND – the massage – transforms the experience.
The open eyes person feels better by having their eyes open. They get this great communication whilst getting a great massage.
Eyes Shut
The type of person who keeps their eyes shut is an introvert.
They’re not willing to engage in conversation. They want to escape, have some me-time, relax and get some “zen”. Shut eyes helps the person be present to the massage. The quiet afforded by a sensitive Angel who recognises they need to shut up, helps the recipient be present to how they feel.
A “shut-eyes” person in the hands of a good Angel – or partner / friend massaging them – can safely switch off and not be responsible for how other people around them feel – at least for a while.
The zen – AND – the massage – transforms the experience.
The eyes shut person feels better by having their eyes shut. They get this 5-minutes of freedom whilst getting a great massage.
What do you do?
As Angels we are trained to observe if the person wants to have their eyes open or shut and react accordingly. This makes 3 Minute Angels sensitive to different needs within a working team or at your event. You could have differences across your team or event attendees between eyes open or eyes shut when they get a massage.
